
Overview
WorldTime is a simple, intelligent utility that displays in real time, not only the time in cities around the world, but also which parts of the world are currently in darkness and which parts are in daylight.
Trellian WorldTime makes use of actual satellite images. You can see the luminance created by the cities of the world. Trellian WorldTime is a novel utility, that is fast becoming one of Trellian's most downloaded programs!
Have you ever been left foraging the Internet for world time converters, because a friend or online acquaintance from another country has set up a meeting date in their time?
Trellian WorldTime will tell you what time it is in their part of the world in an instant. You can even save their specific location so that you can always see their time, with a glance. Trellian WorldTime is just what you have been looking for all this time!

Registration
To register and upgrade your software, you will need to obtain registration details. To purchase a registration key from the Trellian web site, Select Register from the Help menu of WorldTime, and click on the "obtain registration key" link. Alternatively you may purchase the software from an authorized Trellian software reseller.
Once you have all of your details ready, follow these steps to register WorldTime.
Step 1. - Select Register from the Help menu.
Step 2. - Enter your registration details. Registration details are case sensitive. Your username will be the email address you registered with. If you have lost your registration details, click the relevant link on the registration window, and follow the instructions. 
Step 3. - Click the Next button to continue. If your registration details are accepted, a thank you message is displayed

Upgrading
To keep WorldTime current, upgrades should be installed from time to time. These upgrades are free to all registered users.
To download the latest upgrade, select the Upgrade option from the File menu. LiveUpgrade will contact the upgrade server to check if there are any upgrades available. 
All available components will be displayed in the selection list. All items that can be upgraded will be selected, and marked with a red clock icon. To upgrade these items, tick the checkbox next to the program and/or component name and click the Upgrade button.
Items marked by a grey dot have not been installed.
Items marked with a green tick are current and no update is required.

Using WorldTime
This chapter explains how to use WorldTime 

Map Settings
Day Map:
To display the WorldTime map in daylight, click the Show Day Map button
or click on the View menu and select Day Map.
Night Map:
To display the WorldTime map at night, click the Show Night Map button
or click on the View menu and select Night Map.
Clouds:
To display cloud images, click the Show Clouds button
or click on the View menu and select Clouds.
Sun Shadow:
To display the sun shadow on the map, click the Show Sun Shadow button
or click on the View menu and select Sun Shadow.
Refresh:
To refresh the sun shadow, click the Refresh button
or click on the View menu and select Refresh.
Latitude / Longitude Grid:
To display the latitude and longitude gridlines on the map, click the Show Latitude/Longitude button
or click on the View menu and select Grid.
Actual Pixels:
To display the WorldTime satellite image in a 1:1 ratio, click the Actual Pixels button
or click on the View menu and select Actual Pixels.
Fit To Screen:
To fit the WorldTime map to the current window width , click the Fit To Screen button
or click on the View menu and select Fit To Screen.

Map Navigation
Simply move the mouse over locations on the map, and the status bar will provide information of the location.
To move the map, click anywhere on the map, and drag the mouse in the direction to scroll in.
To zoom in and out click the magnifying glass buttons or if you have a mouse with a wheel, the mouse wheel controls the zooming. 

Displaying / Finding a city
Displaying Cities
To toggle display of cities on the map, click the Show all cities button
or click on the View menu and select All cities.
To display the names of the cities click the Show City Names button
or click on the View menu and select City Names.
To toggle display of selected cities, click the Show City Selection button.
Finding Cities
To find a city you can use the City Selector, or simply browse for the city by moving the mouse over city names. 
To display the City Selector, click the Options menu and select the Select City menu option.
Select the country the city is located in from the list on the left, then select the city from the list on the right. 
Click the OK button and the city will be marked on the map in green text. 

Displaying the time
WorldTime displays the local time in the title bar of the WorldTime window. To see the time in another city, move the mouse over the city and WorldTime will display the city's local time and date in the status bar.
In the example below, the local time is 09:40 (shown in the title bar) and the time in Maramba is 01:40 (shown in the status bar). 
To permanantly display the time for a city, double click the city. This will display the city's local time on the map in green text. Alternatively locate the city in the City Selector, select the city name then click OK. 

Displaying City Information
To display city information such as sunset, sunrise, daylight savings time etc. right click the city and select Properties from the popup menu. 
To display the city's location and time on the map, click the Mark button.
To see a list of Hotels in the city, click the Hotels button.
For weather forecasts, click the Weather button.
To find books about the city, click the Books button.
To see a Terra map of the city, click the Terra button.

Displaying Clouds
WorldTime can display the latest cloud satellite images. The images are updated every 3 hours. To display clouds on the map click the Show Clouds button
,
or click the View menu and select the Clouds menu option.
To turn clouds off click the Show Clouds button again. 
To see an animation of cloud movement in the last 12 hours, click the play button. The cloud animation can be controlled using these buttons: 
The cloud animation can be set to loop in Settings.

Weather
To view weather information for a city, right click in the country the city is located in, or locate the city using the Select City wizard. 
Select Weather from the menu, then select a city from the submenu. The weather forecast for the selected city will be displayed. 

Hotels
To view the Hotels in a city, right click in the country the city is located in, or locate the city using the Select City wizard. 
Select Hotels from the menu, then select a city from the submenu. Hotels in the selected city will be displayed. 

Displaying Timezones
To display timezones on the map click the Show Timezones button
,
or click the View menu and select the Time Zones menu option.
To turn timezones off click the Show Timezones button again. 

Displaying Earthquake Locations
WorldTime can display the locations of earthquakes in the last 24 hours, and the severity of the quake based on the Richter scale. To display the earthquake locations click the View Recent Earthquakes button.
or click on the View menu and select Earthquakes.
The colour of the location circle corresponds with the Richter scale. 
To hide earthquake locations, click the View Recent Earthquakes button again.

Settings

Options

Automatic Shadow Update:
Specifies how often to update the shadow map.
Wallpaper width
Specifies the pixel width of the WorldTime map when set as wallpaper. This is usually the same width as your display resolution
Display Scale & Cloud Date Info:
Toggles display of the cloud image date and time, and the map's scale.
Loop Cloud Animation:
Toggles looping of the cloud animation images.

Settings

Browser:
Enter the path to your web browser. WorldTime will use this browser to open any web pages within the program.

Proxy/Firewall

Proxy:
If you need to use a Proxy Server to connect to the internet, you should specify the address of the proxy. If you find that WorldTime is unable to download cloud images, you should check and make sure that both the address and the port of your proxy are correct.
Port:
Specifies the port to use if using a Proxy.
Username:
Specifies the username to use when accessing the Proxy. (Not required on all proxy servers, please ask your System Administrator for help if unsure)
Password:
Specifies the password to use when accessing the Proxy. (Not required on all proxy servers, please ask your System Administrator for help if unsure)

Using Wallpaper mode
The WorldTime map can be displayed as wallpaper on your desktop.
To enable wallpaper click the Options menu and select Wallpaper Mode. 

Changing the program language
To change the language that WorldTime uses, select a language from the Options menu.
